Israeli style breakfast is one of the best experience in Sydney. Especially when you arrive early in the morning and the bang is starving! We did order 485 Breakfast, Shashouka and Blintzes, that was the three famous dishes and it was delicious choice. Definitely, I will visit this place in the future as well. The staff was so kind, friendly and nice, lovely performance. Thank you guys again for this experience! Highly recommended to spend time with your family or folks!!!
Discovering this hidden gem in Surry Hills was a delight! With an extensive array of options, each dish promises a delightful surprise for your taste buds. Personally, I couldn't get enough of their chicken sandwich – bursting with flavors that left me craving more with every bite. The service was commendable, especially if you're a fan of Mediterranean cuisine. And let's not forget the refreshing watermelon juice, a perfect complement to any meal. While the atmosphere was undeniably great, it did tend to get a bit crowded. However, the overall experience was still worth it, making this spot a must-visit for anyone in the area
Delicious spot! I've never had baked eggs before and I am DEFINITELY ordering them next time. The bagel was quite tall so I was worried about logistics in eating it but it was actually quite soft and perfect amount of fillings inside. I rarely have bagels but now I feel converted and needing more. Atmosphere is lovely, especially convenient near the lightrail in Surry Hills. It is quite loud inside the cafe. I came on a busy weekend with my friend so I recommend coming at quieter hours if you want to hear each other better.
Super yummy Iraqi/Middle Eastern style food. The makhlama was perfectly savoury with a bit of heat to it. Would def go again.
Very nice! Classic “western” options (French toast, milkshakes) done really well as well as Middle Eastern choices that are really delicious. Went there Sunday around 10.30a, were able to squeeze into a small table to seat our party of 4 without any wait. Food was served pretty quickly. Coffee was decent. Everything was tasty - though I think for those with a sweet tooth, the French toast is a must try - it’s filled with a blueberry jam and the bread is done just right. The ham toastie is good - if you like hash browns, you’ll love this as it’s stufffed with hash filling. This is a great brunch choice - has something for everyone - recommend!
What a lifesaver! After a truly traumatic brunch experience at Paddock on Crown — where everything from service to food was a disaster — we stumbled into Four Ate Five, still hungry and honestly just hoping for something edible. What we got was a complete transformation. The moment we sat down, the warm service, attention to detail, and calm atmosphere made it feel like we had time-travelled from a forgotten back alley into the heart of a modern, world-class city. Every dish was a joy — fresh ingredients, thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and most importantly: delicious. The turmeric latte was a standout (my absolute favourite!), vibrant and comforting without being overpowering. The salad bowl was colorful, flavorful, and full of texture — a real mood-lifter. Even the bread and shakshuka were top-notch. After the mess of a morning, this place genuinely healed my spirit. It reminded me that good food can absolutely turn your day around. So grateful to have ended up here — Four Ate Five, thank you for saving my day (and my faith in Sydney cafés)!
Really great menu, service & location! Had the shakshuka which was amazing on its own, and the pita leveled it up - very fluffy. Had a delicious freshly squeezed orange, pineapple, ginger juice as well.
Loved the vibes, the presentation and the location ! Just a short walk from the bus stop, making it the perfect weekend brunch spot. We tried the miso mushroom on toast and shakshuka both packed with flavour and beautifully presented Definitely a spot I’d go back to again!
Had brunch at Four Ate Five and it was fantastic! The smoothie was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced — not too sweet, just the right kick to start the day. The shakshuka was rich and flavourful. The atmosphere is warm and bustling, service is friendly.
Highly recommend this outstanding little spot in Surry Hills for a quick brunch/lunch. Perfect coffee, and a really varied menu with plenty of choice - I chose the Chorizo Menemen (Turkish Eggs) and it was amazing!
